Ericsson said the recently opened venue is the company’s first 5G manufacturing facility to be located in Southeast Asia.

Though the exact locations of the facilities have not yet been decided, a formal announcement could come as early as this week.

The factory will reportedly be able to produce 500,000 electric vehicles annually that have a starting price of Rs 20 lakh (about $24,360).

More than $855 million of the investment will go toward constructing offshore wind turbine production facilities, which will be completed by 2027.
