Wooden Caargo Tags

Over 43 wooden tags were recovered from the Sinan shipwreck, tied to packages of ceramics and other goods. Each was inscribed with the donor’s name, the intended temple, and loading date. These humble markers reveal a wide network of religious exchange linking elite sponsors, maritime merchants, and Chan temples across East Asia.
