Unpacking sinan shipwreck
Unpacking the Sinan Cargo

Archaeologists excavated the wreck in vertical slices, recording the contents of each layer. This schematic shows how the uppermost levels held mainly structural debris and loose coins, while intact ceramic stacks appeared lower down. Timber and large items were placed directly on the hull.
