Waterfowl Pals,
Walking by, my eyes are suddenly magnetized to your iridescent
feathers–the color of cyan. Soon it will be time for you and all your Mallard friends to migrate, lifting up into the air with your three foot wingspan.
Warm light reveals the casual magic of the cattails' long tapering leaves and the colors of fall changing all around. Duckies floating along, enjoying a snack of cattail roots while I enjoy the peaceful sounds.
Glimmering oasis, deep reds, shades of green and blue; perhaps tomorrow I’ll come back to you.
