Sculpture / Mixed Media
Media used: Newspaper, leaves/plants, fabric with PVA glue
This piece, a mixed media 3D piece, explores the symbolism of a scarf as a representation of comfort, care, and the enduring bonds between generations of women. Each material carries deep significance: the pink fabric scarf embodies youth, tenderness, flexibility and vibrancy, representing the warmth and nurturing spirit of younger women. The newspaper scarf reflects the fragility and evolution of knowledge, signifying the passing down of stories, wisdom, and experiences. The natural scarf, made from branches and leaves, represents the organic connection between generations, symbolising growth, transformation, and the inevitability of time.
