Chinese Bahaba (Bahaba taipingensis)

Adult Length: Up to 2 metres
Once common in Chinese and Korean waters, this large croaker is now critically endangered due to overfishing. Its swim bladder has been highly prized in traditional medicine, fetching enormous prices on the black market. The bahaba’s disappearance is a stark warning about the ecological cost of unregulated marine exploitation.
