Philipp Plein, one of Europe’s most distinguished and innovative luxury fashion brands, is bringing a similarly creative approach to its global supply chain.
German designer Philipp Plein founded his namesake luxury fashion brand in 2008. Based in Switzerland, the collection comprises men's, women's and children's clothing and accessories. They are sold in boutiques and department stores worldwide, as well as in more than 250 mono-brand stores in cities such as Milan, Paris, New York, London, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Las Vegas.
The company views data as a means of improving both its supply chain and the customer experience. Among its tools for achieving those goals is an artificial intelligence-driven logistics platform from 7bridges.
Phillip Plein has relied on the technology to better serve customers, implement ship-from-store, improve procurement processes and identify opportunities for more cost-effective warehousing. To date, the company says, the system has saved it more than more than €2 million a year, approximately 17 times its investment.
Philipp Plein is now expanding its use of the 7bridges platform, with the goal of saving an additional 3% to 5% through improved invoice auditing, eliminating erroneous and disputed invoices. It’s looking to increase the volume of both B2C and B2B transactions, while implementing automated export declaration functionality for high-value goods.
Looking to the future, Philipp Plein hopes to achieve additional efficiencies by automating its supply chain serving B2B and B2C customers alike. It sees the 7bridges platform as a way to further enhance delivery and logistics performance to business and end consumers.
While traditionally steeped in luxury, the fashion house has also identified the need for cost reduction and optimization in key areas of the supply chain. Implementation of automated export declarations will ensure faster and cheaper international shipping for customers.
“Our time working with 7bridges has continually opened up new opportunities for us to deliver a better quality of service to our customers while still optimizing and improving our logistics,” says Sergey Mityagin, chief operations officer at Philipp Plein. “By increasing the number of customers we’re pushing through 7bridges, as well as seizing opportunities for further enhancements around exports and internal auditing, we will be able to create cost savings and efficiencies while still offering enhanced delivery to our customers.”
Philip Ashton, chief executive officer of 7bridges, calls Philipp Plein “almost a foundational customer for us, embracing our vision and continually pushing us to be a better partner, as we use AI and automation to revolutionize the logistics space.
“I’m very excited that they’ve committed to delivering further enhancements to their service, which will result in improved customer service alongside new opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies across their operations,” Ashton says.
