Artificial intelligence is just beginning to have an impact on global supply chains. Will it eventually take over the role of human managers entirely?

The future of A.I. in supply-chain management seems limitless. It’s already aiding in key functions such as demand planning, product design, manufacturing and customer service. But the potential of the technology goes well beyond how it’s being deployed today. The question is: Will it one day render humans redundant? On this episode, we consider the future of A.I. in the supply chain with Nikos Papageorgiou, vice president of customer success with Slync. He discusses A.I.’s impact to date, and the additional capabilities that it will bring to manufacturers and distributors as it matures. Key decisions will increasingly be made by machines, but does that augur the elimination of people altogether? On the contrary, Papageorgiou believes: “A.I.,” he says, “has the ability to unleash human potential.” Hosted by Bob Bowman, managing editor of SupplyChainBrain.
